What a nice way to celebrate spring. Went to a park we've been driving by for the last 13 years and never stopped at. We always thought it was a children's park, but unlike the Continuum in Kerkrade.... This park did not disappoint. Wednesday I went there to walk the walk the main character in Roger's book walked. Once I started translating the story of a teenager caught in a timeworp when his dad is transferred to this area from Amsterdam, I became interested in what the places his adventure took him to, actually looked like, so Roger and I set a time-and-date to go check out the park, and lucked out tremendously with the weather... It was the first day the sun was warm enough to not wear a coat, but cool enough that I didn't mind moving 😊
When the book has a set date to being published in English, I'll post more on it, but right now, that would just be teasing since it won't be for at least a month 😂
I will share some of the photo's I took. If you're in the area and want some peace and quiet... Go take a look. I think I will spend quite some sundaymornings there, with breakfast to go and a travelmug of coffee.
There's also a petting zoo, it charges a 3€ fee, but it is well worth it. It is maintained with help from mentally challenged people, and they really enjoy it if you ask them about the animals in their care. There's a lot of places to just sit and watch, and a small terrass with a coffee and soda/snack machine. Even without kids, it's a fun place to spend some time. (I got to "snorkel" horse smell, so my day was good) There's a couple of cats that just kinda lounge in the sun, allow petting within reason (3 pats and you're out, so make them count LOL) and one even came and sat with me (about 2 feet away and in the staltingblocks to move if I did) for a bit.......
